Research Interest
My research focuses on the physiology of marine phytoplankton and their interactions with bacterial communities, combining both laboratory- and field-based work. I have developed particular expertise in visual and imaging approaches, including m/r-RNA CARD-FISH and confocal microscopy, and I am fascinated by the ability of these techniques to reveal the hidden complexity of microbial life.
