Algal Ecophysiology
We are interested in a physiology of photothrophs with a special focuse on problems of photosynthesis. We study regulation of photosynthesis in various photothrops (cyanobacteria, algae, bacteria) from ecophysiology level (biophysical measurements during cruises in open oceans) to a protein level .
The following projects are currently running:
Photosynthesis of Chromera velia
Nitrogen fixation in diazotrophic cyanobacteria
Effect of increased CO2 on nitrogen fixation
Ecophysiology of marine algae
Mechanism of non-photochemical quenching and state transitions
Dynamics of photosynthetic proteins
